IIM Vizag launches Foundation Course in General Management for NTPC executives

IIM-Vizag 'foundation course in general management’: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam has inaugurated the 'foundation course in general management' for E5 level executives of NTPC-Simhadri. Under this course, the management institute aims to improve these working professionals' critical abilities and managerial skills.

NTPC-Simhadri head of project Sanjay Kumar Sinha was the chief guest for the programme. He explained the significance of management training for future managerial and leadership roles. He spoke about the importance of "learning organisation" and change management. He added that the participants need to update themselves with the advancement of technology and inculcate managerial skills to improve workplace productivity.

NTPC-Simhadri head HR Ruma De Sharma expressed gratitude towards the program directors and IIMV's management, which has designed such unique courses. She shared her own experience of attending such programmes which helped sharpen her skillsets.

IIM-V dean (administration) Prof MV Anuradha said that such customised programmes will help organisations in developing tomorrow's entrepreneurial leaders. Programme director Professor Saroj Kumar Pani gave a brief overview of the planned sessions. Another programme director Prof Vishal Singh Patyal thanked IIM-V director Prof M Chandrashekhar for encouraging them to ideate this programme and the faculty members who will deliver sessions on various topics during the program.

According to IIMV officials, the programme blends foundational competence-building techniques with advanced leadership aptitude, appropriate for future leaders to meet the challenges of a highly dynamic business environment. Twenty officers from NTPC Ltd. are participating in this programme.
