Centre aims to complete AIIMS Madurai construction by 2026
The Central government has targeted to complete the construction work of AIIMS Madurai by 2026, said Madurai MP Su Venkatesan.
Madurai MP Su Venkatesan has said that the Centre is working towards completing the AIIMS Madurai construction by 2026. He got to know this through a letter from Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharati Pravin Pawar dated April 8, 2022.
He said that it is good news that the deadline for the completion of the INR 1,977.80 crore project had been fixed now, as reported by The Hindu.
The MP has said that 92% of the pre-investment activity at the construction site is complete including the boundary wall.
The Centre should expedite the construction work of AIIMS Madurai to make up for the two-year delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We will continuously take this up in every Parliamentary session to ensure that it is completed at the earliest,” he said.
