According to the notice, the decision regarding the promotion of the students is not applicable to the students in the final semester of their undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
All the intermediate even semester students of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh to be promoted to the next odd semester for the academic session 2019-20. This implies that the 2nd and 4th-semester students of undergraduate courses and 2nd-semester students of postgraduate courses are being promoted to the next semester sans examinations. The decision is taken in the view of the ongoing pandemic situation. The decision is not applicable to the students in the final semester of their undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Central University also published an official notification on its official website with the approval of the Competent Authority.
Alternative Assessment Scheme to be followed
In place of conducting examinations, the Central University of Himachal Pradesh in its official notice stated that for the intermediate even-semester students of the academic session 2019-20, the result will be declared on the basis of Internal Assessment conducted during the semester. The notice also clarifies that the SGPA of the current semester will not be considered during the calculation of the Final Grade Point Average and also while deciding the merit for the purpose of awarding the Gold Medal on completion of their Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree programmes.
After the release of the results, the intermediate even-semester students who do not feel satisfied with the marks awarded with the particular grade formula and/or students who would like their grade point for this semester considered during the calculation of Final Grade Point Average, then they can opt for examinations. According to the notice, the Central University of Himachal Pradesh will conduct semester exams for such students once the normalcy is restored.
