The study material is available in digital form on the IGNOU website (e-Gyankosh) and IGNOU e-content App.

Due to the nationwide lockdown (a precautionary step taken by the government to control the spread of the novel coronavirus) and suspension of delivery services across the country, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) stopped the supply of the study material via postal services.

To help students utilize the lockdown period, the Open University advised the students who are awaiting the study materials by post to make use of digital materials available on various facilities provided by IGNOU.

According to the statement released by the varsity, the study material is available in digital form on the IGNOU website (e-Gyankosh) and IGNOU e-content App. Students can download the study material from these portals by downloading their mobile apps from Google Play store on their mobile.

The official announcement released by IGNOU regarding the online study material states, ‘Keeping in view of the precautionary measures taken by the Government to prevent COVID-19 and stoppage of the complete delivery system across the country, IGNOU students who are awaiting the study materials by post may use digital materials available on IGNOU website (e-Gyankosh) and also may access study materials through IGNOU e-content App, which can be downloaded through Google Play store on the mobile.’

Following the social distancing norm advised by the government, IGNOU also declared that the Open University will accept assignment submission by learners through email. Students are required to submit scanned copies of handwritten assignments to the regional centres through a dedicated email ID and the evaluation process will take place based on the same.
