The students of Indraprastha College for Women have alleged that trespassers harassed them and shouted slogans during the annual 'Shruti' festival at the college. Now, the University has asked the committee to look into the matter and submit the report within a week.

Delhi University has formed a panel to enquire regarding the security lapses during the recent annual college fest at the Indraprastha College for Women. The students of Indraprastha College for Women have alleged that trespassers harassed them and shouted slogans during the annual 'Shruti' festival at the college. Now, the University has asked the committee to look into the matter and submit the report within a week. 

Several students have been holding multiple protests in the past few days demanding action on the incident. The committee will be head by Prakash Singh, Director of the South Delhi Campus. Rajni Abbi, proctor, Pankaj Arora, dean students’ welfare, Geeta Sahare, joint proctor, Manju Kamble, department of Hindi are the other members of the committee.

Delhi University has urged the committee to suggest measures to curb such incidents in the future.  “The chairperson of the committee is authorized to opt any additional member as and when needed,” it said. While alleging authoritarian steps, the students demanded that the newly-appointed principal Poonam Kumria should resign from her post amid security lapses. Students has also claimed that the college's boundary walls have been painted saffron, the same color has also been added to its logo and guests being invited to the college events are controversial figures.
