Delhi University is all set to conduct its 98th convocation on February 26. DU will give digital degrees to nearly 1.73 lakh students. As per the reports, DU will provide the printed degrees to the graduates within a month of the convocation.
“On the day of the convocation, we will release the digital degrees and all students who completed their respective courses in 2021 will be receiving emails for the same. We have sent all the data for printing the hard copies already. We should receive the same by the second week of March, after which individual verification of the degrees will occur. Once this is done, the degrees will be sent to the respective colleges and students can collect the same,” said DS Rawat, DU’s dean of examinations.

The decision to provide the degrees within a month's time has been taken to reduce the woes faced by the students who use to wait for their degrees for years after graduation.

As per the reports, over 77,500 undergraduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) students will be receiving their degrees this year. Over 91,800 undergraduate and 1126 post-graduate students from the DU School of Open Learning (SOL) will also be given their degrees in the next two months. Officials told TOI that 650 PhD students will be awarded their degrees this year.
“Earlier data was collected through colleges and it ended up being a time-consuming process. But this year, we are nearly ready with the degrees as we collected the data directly through the new examination form. Hence, the mark sheet and admit card data were ready and could be sent for printing,” the dean of examinations said.
