The University of Delhi released separate guidelines for differently-abled students. According to the notice regarding DU Open Book Exam 2020, the total duration of OBE examination for the students under the PWD category shall be Five Hours.
Delhi University (DU) released separate guidelines on holding online open-book examinations (OBE) for the differently-abled students. The guidelines came after the University of Delhi decided to scrap all semester exams for first-year and second-year students of all undergraduate courses. The University announced that the online Open Book Exam will be conducted only for the final-year and final-semester undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students of all programmes.
The University adopted the alternative to conduct online exams as the traditional mode of conducting exams i.e. the pen and paper is not possible due to the ongoing pandemic situation in the country. With this, the Varsity released separate guidelines for specially-abled students. The guidelines for students enrolled in the “persons with disability”, or PWD category, and notified on June 4 reads, “The colleges, departments, faculties or institutes of the university have been provided specific guidelines to ensure that students belonging to the PWD category who wish to avail the ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure facilities for downloading question papers and uploading answer sheets should be allowed the same following the guidelines of social distancing, safety and health of all the concerned.”

The University of Delhi clearly stated that “The colleges/departments/faculties/institutes of the University are required to provide scribes/writers to students belonging to the PWD category on such 2 requirement by the students. For this the students are advised to send their request related with the requirement of writer/scribe to the Principal/Head/Dean/Director of the college/ department/ faculty/institute as the case may be.”
“The students who wish to avail the ICT infrastructure facilities at the CSCs free of cost are advised to visit the website of the University of Delhi to know the address of the nearest CSC as engaged by the University during the examinations as per the datesheet,”the notice reads.
