Amid the ongoing pandemic situation leading to the shift of academic activities to virtual platforms, GNDU started these courses keeping in view the demand of Punjabi diaspora settled outside Punjab, especially in foreign countries.
GNDU Admissions 2021: Guru Nanak Dev University has commenced the admission application to UGC entitled/approved online courses for Punjabi diaspora under the newly established ‘Directorate of Online Studies’. Amid the ongoing pandemic situation leading to the shift of academic activities to virtual platforms, GNDU started these courses keeping in view the demand of Punjabi diaspora settled outside Punjab, especially in foreign countries.
The aim behind the introduction of online courses on Punjabi diaspora is to promote the Punjabi language and culture for the Punjabi diaspora settled abroad. The initiative launched by GNDU has already been inaugurated virtually on May 3 by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Talking about how these online classes will assist youngsters to learn Punjabi and the true spirit of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat, Professor (Dr) Jaspal Singh Sandhu said, “This endeavor would also help Punjabi youth to abreast Punjab’s rich and glorious heritage, thus connecting them with their ancestral roots. The UGC had granted permission to start courses to 37 universities out of the 981 universities of the country. The GNDU is the only state public university in the state to have been given this honor by the UGC.”
Students interested in GNDU Admissions 2021 for the online course must note that the university shall be offering courses in Punjabi at certificate, graduate, and postgraduate levels. In addition, the varsity will also be including technical and skill-based courses in the areas of computer science, commerce and management for the students of state and other parts of the country under online studies.
