Nominations from 25 teachers were received by the Returning Officer for election from all Faculties and Centres. Two nominations were rejected by the Returning Officer on technical grounds.
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has successfully conducted the election of Teachers' Representatives to the Academic Council (Majlis-i-Talimi) of the university. The two teachers each from nine Faculties and two teachers from all Centres of the university represented their fraternity in the Academic Council. They are elected from amongst teachers of their Faculty/Centres through voting by secret ballot for a period of three years.

Nominations from 25 teachers were received by the Returning Officer for election from all Faculties and Centres. Two nominations were rejected by the Returning Officer on technical grounds. Nine faculty members were elected unopposed as they received no opposition from their constituencies.
For the rest of the Faculties and Centres, elections were conducted through secret ballot on March 09, 2022 in the Dr. M. A. Ansari Auditorium of the university. Teachers in large numbers participated enthusiastically and a total of 84.44% voting was recorded.
The Returning Officer Prof. Waseem Ahmad Khan expressed his gratitude towards Vice-Chancellor, JMI, Padma Shri Prof. Najma Akhtar, Registrar JMI, Prof. Nazim Husain Al Jafri and members of the teaching and non-teaching staff for helping in the smooth and successful conduct of the election.
Meanwhile, the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) has established an Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) as a one-stop platform for all the university students who want to learn about the intricacies of the entrepreneurship ecosystem and take up that journey of becoming an entrepreneur.
