New Kendriya Vidyalaya to be set up in the IIT Indore campus, the Union education minister announced.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced that the Central government has decided to set up a new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore campus. With the introduction of this new KV at the IIT Indore campus, the total number of Kendriya Vidyalayas has increased to 1,242. The admission process for this Kendriya Vidyalaya in the IIT Indore campus will be as per the schedule given for the academic session 2020-21. 

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on September 9 that the country’s 1,242nd Kendriya Vidyalaya will be set up in the Indian Institute of Technology Indore campus. He said the move will be a “unique combination of higher and school education”.

Taking to Twitter, Nishank said, “I am very happy to share that a new name is going to be added to the vast chain of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The orders are being issued today (Tuesday) to open a Central School on the campus of IIT Indore.”

“I believe that the establishment of Central School on the campus of IIT Indore will be a unique combination of higher and school education. Warmest congratulations to all the students and parents who are going to be benefited,” he further tweeted.

Last month, the Education Minister had launched a new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Madurai Tamil Nadu. It is the 1,241st school of the ever-growing chain of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country. The new KV has been set up as Kendriya Vidyalaya ITBP Idayapatti, Madurai.
