University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued an advisory to the universities asking them to postpone all exams and suspend all evaluation work till March 31, 2020, due to Coronavirus Outbreak.
As a precautionary against coronavirus, University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued an advisory to the universities asking them to postpone all exams and suspend all evaluation work until March 31, 2020, due to Coronavirus Outbreak. The commission has also asked the universities to reschedule all postponed examinations after March 31. The advisory issued by UGC came after receiving communication from the Ministry of Human Resource Department’s Secretary.
According to the press release published by UGC, all the universities have to take precautionary steps against coronavirus outbreak and work together to curb the spread. The commission has also stated that all educational institutes need to communicate with students regularly and update them with the latest happenings via the internet or other electronic means. They must ensure that a student doesn’t develop any type of anxiety due to a lack of information in any respective department or subject.

UGC has also asked the institutions to provide helpline numbers and email ids to students where they can connect in case of any relevant query or confusion. They must advise all students, teaching, and non-teaching staff to not panic and follow precautionary measures to combat novel coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus as a pandemic. The rapidly spreading disease has so far claimed 3 lives in India. Positive cases of coronavirus in India has risen to 170.
