Candidates seeking his/her answer sheet for the admission cycle 2023-24 have to make an online payment of INR 1000 per exam and also submit the admit card duly attested by the Invigilator with the seal of the NID DAT 2023 test center. The National Institute of Design (NID) will release the answer sheets for DAT Prelims and DAT Mains on request only after the admissions process is complete. No request for answer sheets during the admissions process will be entertained. The answer sheets will be available for one year after the announcement of the final result

No, obtaining a rank in the NID DAT 2023 exam does not guarantee admission to the B.Des program. It is because the allotment of seats will be factors like the merit rank of the candidate, seat intake, category, etc.

The final common merit lists will be generated category-wise (Open, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD) and as per merit based on the sum total of the weighted scores obtained in DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. 

Note that DAT Prelims carries 4% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 60% weightage. 

Separate merit lists will be prepared for Overseas candidates for the B.Des program.

To be included in the final results of NID DAT 2023, the candidate needs to appear in both DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. Candidates are shortlisted for DAT Mains based on their performance in DAT Prelims.

The B.Des DAT Mains 2023 Result Re-check window is open from May 19 to May 20 (6 pm). Candidates who have any objections against the DAT Mains result can apply for a re-check before the given deadline.

The National Institute of Design (NID) will release the category-wise cut-off for the B.Des program for admission to the participating colleges after the allotment of seats. The cut-off would indicate the minimum score or rank the candidate needs to secure in his or her category to get admission to the B.Des program.

Note that open-category candidates will not be included in the cut-off for reserved categories.

Candidates will be issued the Provisional Offer of Admission after they have confirmed their seats by paying the 1st-semester tuition fee and have successfully verified their documents.

After the letter is issued, the candidate will have to pay all other charges/ fees (as mentioned on the Fee Structure available on the NID admission portal) after the receipt of the letter.

Candidates who have been shortlisted for the M.Des program need to pay the tuition fee for the 1st semester and confirm their seats. Such candidates also need to upload their documents by May 31, 2023.

Any candidate failing to pay the seat-confirmation fee will be disqualified, and the vacant seat will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.

M.Des candidates who have been shortlisted need to pay tuition fees by May 31 (12 pm, midnight) to confirm their seats:

• INR 2,13,500/- (which includes a non-refundable Token Fee of INR 30,000/) + Convenience Charges (as applicable) for GEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD candidates;
• USD 2,910 (which includes a non-refundable Token Fee of INR 75,000/) + Convenience Charges (as applicable) for Overseas candidates from SAARC & African   Countries, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam;
• USD 6,410 (which includes a non-refundable Token Fee of INR 75,000/) + Convenience Charges (as applicable) for Overseas candidates from the Rest of the World.

The National Institute of Design (NID) has declared the B.Des DAT Mains 2023 results on May 19, at pm.

The results have been announced online at admissions.nid.edu.

The National Institute of Design will declare B.Des DAT Mains 2023 result anytime now. As per official schedule, results for the program was slated to be out at 4 pm on  May 19, 2023.

The candidate has to pay INR 30,000 + Convenience charges (as applicable) to confirm their seats. The payment has to be made online looging into the admission portal.

Note that overseas candidates have to pay INR 75,000.

In case the candidate doesn’t submit any campus preferences before the last date, which is 12 pm, May 22, in that the candidature of the candidate will be disqualified.

Also, the seat of the candidate will be offered to the next candidate in the order of merit.

The candidate will be prompted to submit campus preferences when viewing the NID DAT 2023 results for the B.Des program. Campus preferences will have to be submitted between May 19 (4 pm)  to May 22 (12 pm). The selection of campus must be in the order of priority.

The candidate will be able to select campuses before the last date. The candidate can edit the selection multiple times before the last date.

The seat allotment of NID DAT 2023 for Round I for the B.Des program will be announced on May 25, 2023. The candidate can check their seat allotment status by logging into the admission portal using their log-in credentials. 

Candidates who are shortlisted can confirm their seats by paying the tuition fee and uploading documents within the given deadline.

The National Institute of Design (NID) will issue the Provisional Offer Letters of Admission in the 1st week of June 2023. 

The offer letters will be released only upon payment of the tuition fee for the 1st semester, document upload, and successful verification of documents.

The B.Des program has an intake capacity of 425 seats and is available at five NID campuses (check the table below).

If two or more candidates secure the same total marks, the following tie-break policy followed to determine the merit rank:

1. A higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in DAT Mains.
2. If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in DAT Mains- Studio test.
3. If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in DAT Prelims.
4. If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in DAT Prelims Part II/III (Subjective).
5. If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in the question of the DAT Mains exam which carries maximum marks.
6. If this does not break the tie, the same rank will be assigned to the candidates

If the total marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, the following

tie-break policy will be used to decide the merit ranks:

1. A higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in DAT Mains.
2. If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in the Stage 1 Design Aptitude Test.
3. If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Stage 1 Design Aptitude Test Part B.
4. If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Stage 1 Design Aptitude Test Part A.
5. If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in the question of the DAT Mains exam which carries maximum marks.

In the original admission schedule, the fee payment and document upload window was slated to be open from May 25 (6 pm) to May 26 (6 pm). 

With the results being postponed, from May 18 to May 19, it is likely that the fee payment window may also change.

B.Des candidates can check their eligibility status by logging into the NID DAT Mains 2023 result portal. If the candidate is shortlisted for admission, then he or she needs to pay the 1st-semester tuition fee for seat confirmation and upload relevant documents. DAT Prelims is the first stage of the NID DAT 2023 entrance exam. DAT Prelims was held in the following 23 cities.

The National Institute of Design (NID) conducted the DAT Prelims exam for the B.Des and M.Des programs on January 8, 2023. 

The exam was administered in a center-based mode across 23 cities in the country. Note that each city could have one or more test centers.

The Studio Test (DAT Mains) for the B.Des program was conducted on April 30, 2023. Candidates were shortlisted for the Studio Test based on their performance on DAT Prelims.

The B.Des program has an intake capacity of 425 seats. Check the participating institutes and seat intake for each of them.

The National Institute of Design offers a 4-years B.Des program at its five campuses. The intake capacity for the program is 425 seats.

Admission to the program is conducted through the NID DAT entrance exam, which comprises TWO stages. The candidate has to first appear in DAT Prelims, and if shortlisted has to next appear in DAT Mains.

DAT Mains is made up of a Studio Test.

The final merit list is prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

The results of M.Des DAT Mains 2023 were declared on May 18, 2023. The weightage carried by various test components is given in the table below.

The results of DAT Mains for the B.Des program can be checked online following these steps:

• Go to the NID admission portal
• If result is live, the result link will be activated
• Click on the link 
• A log-in window will open
• Fill in your email id and date of birth
• On successful log-in, the result would be displayed on the screen.

The DAT Mains exam for the B.Des program carries 60% weightage. In contrast, the DAT Prelims is worth 40% weightage. Note that DAT Mains comprises a Studio Test.

The recheck window for M.Des DAT Mains Result 2023 is open from May 18 (6 pm) to May 19 (6 pm). So, the candidate only has a few hours left to apply for a recheck of their DAT Mains results. Recheck replies have to be submitted through the NID admission portal - Click Here

The National Institute of Design has declared the results for the M.Des program on May 19 (at around 4.36 pm). The results were released considering performance of the candidate in DAT Mains and DAT Prelims.

The National Institute of Design (NID) will declare the results for the B.Des on May 19, 2023 (at 4 pm). The results would be released for all candidates who have appeared in the DAT Mains exam.

The B.Des DAT Mains results would be released online at the NID admission portal - admissions.nid.edu. To check their results, the candidate needs to log in to the result portal using their candidate credentials.
