The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will conduct the NIFT 2023 Personal Interviews for the PG courses starting March 20, 2023. The Personal interview will be conducted online via zoom link. The slot booking process for the interview is open till March 16 (5 pm). Candidates who have been shortlisted for the personal interview can book their slots (the status will be mentioned in the NIFT 2023 result).
The results of the NIFT 2023 written exams were declared on March 13, 2023.

Key points related to the NIFT 2023 Group Discussion (GD)
Test duration - The GD would be 15 to 20 minutes.
Subject matter - The test will include a discussion on an assigned case study.
Assessment of the GD - The candidates will be evaluated on a number of parameters, including the following:
- Conceptual clarity
- Knowledge of the topic assigned
- The contribution made to the topic
- Interpersonal skills Ability to generate new ideas
- Problem-solving approach
- Leadership qualities
- Effective communication
Key points related to the NIFT 2023 Personal Interview
Test duration - There will be no fixed time limit for the personal interview. Typically, the interview can range anywhere between 15-30 minutes.
The candidate will be evaluated on parameters like:
- Career orientation
- Aptness for the course
- Overall personal achievements in academics and co-curricular activities
- Communication
- General awareness and aptitude, creative and lateral thinking

- The candidate may be asked to introduce himself/ herself
- Questions related to interests and hobbies, especially in the field of fashion and design
- What the candidate intends to do after completion of the academic program (say, after completion of the B.Des or M.Des program)
- What are the top designers that the candidate follows, and why?
- What inspired the candidate to become a designer or pursue a career in design?
- The work and portfolio of the candidate.
- The strengths and weaknesses of the candidate.
- Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
- What is fashion design, its significance in the current context, etc.?
- The expectation of the candidate from the design program.
- How does the candidate keep track of design trends and news?
How to crack the NIFT 2023 Personal Interview
The candidate needs to follow the following tips to crack the NIFT personal interview 2023.
- Be punctual - The first step starts with the candidate reaching the exam center on time.
- Be well dressed - The appearance of the candidate while not a direct selection criterion, it will definitely help create a positive image of the candidate in the minds of the expert panel.
- Be well-mannered - It is important to keep one’s emotions under control and be well-behaved. For instance, ensure that you greet the jury with respect, and ask to be seated. Also, don’t forget to keep the mobile in silent mode.
- Appear confident - Making eye contact is one way to convey the message that you are confident and comfortable in your own skin.
- Be earnest and a good listener - You must look and appear interested and also must listen carefully to what the panel is saying.
