NIFT 2023 seat allotment out for UG, PG courses

NIFT seat allotment is based on the merit rank of the candidate in the NIFT 2023 entrance exam, the category, and also the choices opted by the candidate. Candidates who have been allotted seats are required to pay the seat-acceptance fee till June 6 (11.59 pm). 

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has announced NIFT 2023 seat allotment for undergraduate and postgraduate courses on June 1, 2023. Candidates who have been allotted seats are required to pay the seat-acceptance fee till June 6 (11.59 pm). 

NIFT seat allotment is based on the merit rank of the candidate in the NIFT 2023 entrance exam, the category, and also the choices opted by the candidate. Candidates who have been allotted seats can download the provisional allotment letter from the admission portal using their login credentials. If the candidate fails to pay the fee within the given deadline, his/her seat will stand cancelled and will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.

NIFT counselling is conducted online as a centralised seat-allotment process. Candidates are shortlisted for NIFT 2023 counselling based on their NIFT 2023 merit rank. The seat acceptance fee for NIFT 2023 is INR 1,83, 200. It must be noted that the candidate is not required to pay any fees while filling in-campus preferences. 

NIFT 2023 Seat Allotment Process 

The seat allotment will be made considering the following points: 

  1. The category of the candidate  
  2. The merit rank of the candidate in NIFT 2023  
  3. Options selected at the time of counseling registration (combination of Campus + academic program or course)  
  4. Seat intake for the applied program 
  5. Whether the candidate belongs to the PwD category 
  6. Any other seat allotment rules that may be applicable.  

Eligibility Criteria for Participation in NIFT 2023 Seat Allocation Process 

Program

Qualifying exam 

UG programs 

 

Qualified NIFT Entrance Exam 2023, including Situation Test and Personal Interview as applicable 

  • BDes - Any subjects 
  • BFTech - Physics and Mathematics

Appeared for SAT (for Bachelor program) and has a valid score received by NIFT  

 

Qualified NIFT Entrance Exam 2023 for Artisan/ Children of Artisan category

Qualified NLEA 2023 Entrance Exam

The candidate must have passed: 

  1. 10th exam 
  2. 3- or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE/ AIU/ UGC or a State Board of Technical Education in courses related to Fashion/ Apparel/ Textile and Accessories/ Home Science/ Handloom Technology/ Products/ Visual Communication/ Graphic Design/ Industrial Design/ Interior Design/ Multimedia Design/ Apparel Technology/ Leather/ Fine Arts. OR passed 10+2 exam recognized by AIU. 
  3. Completed 2 years regular UG Diploma at NIFT after passing 10+2 

MDes and MFM  

 

The candidate must have qualified in NIFT Entrance Exam 2023 or appeared for GMAT and has a valid score received by NIFT 

The candidate must have a valid UG degree: 

  • The candidate must have passed UG exam in any discipline. OR
  • Completed 3-year UG diploma from NID/NIFT 

MFTech 

 

The candidate must have qualified in NIFT Entrance Exam 2023 or appeared for GMAT and has a valid score received by NIFT

The candidate must meet any of the following criteria: 

  • BFTech from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), OR 
  • BE/BTech from any recognised institute
