Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) has announced to call for a nationwide strike from November 27, 2021, due to repeated delays in NEET PG Counselling 2021.

National Eligibility Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG) Counselling 2021 has again been postponed after the Centre has decided to revisit the INR 8 lakh annual income limit criterion for determining the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category in NEET Counselling 2021. The Centre has also assured the top court of the country that it would not conduct the counselling process until it takes a fresh decision on this matter.

Now, the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) has announced to call for a nationwide strike from tomorrow, November 27, 2021, due to repeated delays in the counselling process. To protest against these delays, doctors have decided to withdraw Out Patient Department (OPD) services from Saturday.

FORDA has written to the Union Ministery of Health & Family Welfare to inform them about the strike. The letter reads, "The already overburdened and exhausted Resident Doctors of the nation fighting at the frontline since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, have been waiting patiently till date for some positive outcome of Supreme Court proceedings in the matter of already delayed NEET-PG 2021 counselling. However, there seems to be no respite to their physical and mental distress, with the next court hearing scheduled on 6th January 2022."
