Delhi University has released the first DU merit list for undergraduate admissions today i.e., Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 5:00 pm. The University was scheduled to announce the DU 1st list of seat allocation in its colleges on October 18 but has deferred the process by a day. Candidates, who took the CUET exam and registered for the admission round in the university can check and download the merit list online on the official website using their CUET application number and password. DU first seat allotment list 2022 will be available on the official website of DU CSAS - ugadmission.uod.ac.in or du.ac.in.
The DU 1st merit list will mention details of the candidate's rank and the seats allotted to them based on the programmes and colleges applied by them. The window for approval of DU UG applications by the college will be open on October 19 at 10 am and will close on October 22 at 5 pm. For DU first merit list 2022, candidates need to accept the allotted seat at Delhi University from October 19 at 10 am till October 21 till 4.59 pm. If a candidate fails to accept their allotted seat within the stipulated time, the allotment will stand cancelled. The concerned college will then check the eligibility of the candidate and verify the documents uploaded.
How to check DU UG merit list 2022
Students must follow the steps below to download the DU UG first merit list 2022:
- Visit the official website of DU CSAS - ugadmission.uod.ac.in
- Sign in using the CUET application number and password
- Enter the given captcha code, and click on ‘Login’
- The candidate portal will open on the screen
- Now, check the first merit list and save it for future use
According to the varsity, “In order to optimally fill the seats, the University will be allocating 30 per cent extra seats for the SC/ST candidates in the first CSAS allocation round.” The Delhi University admission 2022 will be done through the marks obtained in the CUET UG exam. The DU Merit list 2022 will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in CUET.

DU First merit list: Here's how the allocation process will be carried out
Candidates will have to accept their allocated seat within a stipulated time period. In case a candidate does not accept or does not act upon the offer, they will be removed from the allocation process and will not be able to participate in subsequent rounds of allocation. After a student accepts their allocated seat, the college will either approve or reject the admission based on scrutiny of their eligibility and documents and, if approved, candidates will have to pay their admission fees to confirm the admission. This will close the first round of allocations.

DU Admissions 2022: Seat allocation to not be issued in public domain
The seat allocations will not be issued in the public domain. Candidates will have to log into their personal admission dashboards and they will be notified of their course-college allocation there. The allocation will be based on the course-college preferences listed by the candidates and their position on the CUET score-based merit list.

To facilitate faster allocation-cum-admission process, the university has decided to offer 20% extra allocations for each program in each college under UR/OBC-NCL/EWS categories and 30% extra allocations under SC/ST/PwBD categories.

Delhi University first semester to begin in November
Delhi University (DU) will begin academic session for first-year students of the 2022-23 academic year on November 2 this year. The new students will only be given a four-day break between the first and second semesters. According to the schedule released by the varsity, the first semester will start in November 2022 and end in March 2023, after which the second semester will be conducted from March to July.

Fewer candidates in ECA, Sports quota this year
This year, athletics has seen the most registrations at 1,358, but this is half the number of last year. The same pattern can be seen for the other popular sports categories: from 1,300 to 616 in football; 1,246 to 531 in basketball; and from 835 to 405 in volleyball.
The dip has been as sharp in the most popular ECA category: last year, it had 3,047 registration and this has reduced to 1,748 this year. English debate, which had 1,775 registrations last year, has only 551 registrations this year. Quizzing had 1,696 applications last year which has fallen to 602 applications this year.
Merit List DU 2022: First cutoff releasing today
As per the previous schedule, first merit list for DU UG admissions was supposed to release on October 19, 2022. However, the university released a press note informing the postponement of cutoff list. It is expected to be out today at 5 pm.
