AICTE asks institutes to participate in ICAR Graduate Income Index Survey
All one-year graduate alumni from non-agricultural backgrounds are eligible to participate in the survey. Today is the last date to submit the survey.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has asked all Vicechancellors of technical universities and directors/principals of AICTE-approved institutions to participate in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s (ICAR) graduate income index (GII) survey. The ICAR has requested the AICTE to promote similar Graduate Income Index (GII) for technical graduates.
All one-year graduate alumni from non-agricultural backgrounds are eligible to participate in the survey. Today is the last date to submit the survey. The online survey questionnaire is developed to collect the responses to 30 questions across three areas:
- General and perceptual benefits
- Remuneration
- Aspirational benefits.
The responses collected through this survey will help the council to understand the potential outcome on the graduate income of alumni currently working in various sectors. They will also receive feedback on existing education delivery mechanisms. The GII survey aims at strengthening and streamlining higher education in agriculture across the country.
The notice read, “Your institution may be maintaining alumni database and must be in regular touch with alumni through Alumni Association/Forum and various activities. Therefore, you are requested to circulate the aforesaid information to your alumni who have completed one-year after their under graduate program and currently working in any organization. These alumni are supposed to participate in this survey.”
Under the National Agricultural Higher Educational Project (NAHEP) project, the ICAR will create an alumni database by launching the income index. The main objective of the project is to develop resources and mechanisms for supporting infrastructure, faculty, and student advancement.
