Bihar Enhances Technical Education with Paid Internships Scheme

The Bihar government has started a new paid internship scheme for students who are studying for a four-year BTech degree in government engineering colleges in the state. This scheme aims to connect what students learn in school with real-world experience. It was announced in a meeting led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This step is important for improving the job skills and chances of engineering students. 

Bihar Internships Scheme for BTech Students

With this program, BTech students in their seventh semester now have the option to opt for a paid internship that will give them a chance to gain important experience in actual work settings. With a one-time stipend of Rs 10,000, participants will have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical settings, gaining hands-on experience in their respective fields of study. 

As per PTI reports, the Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat) S Siddharth as saying, "The main objective of the scheme is to give exposure to students pursuing the four-year undergraduate course in government-run engineering colleges to the working culture of the departments and its scheme." 

This will help in creating opportunities for students and adult learners to acquire skills, knowledge and values for employability through compulsory internship. The scheme not only empowers students with practical insights but also aligns with the government's vision of nurturing a skilled workforce to drive Bihar's socio-economic progress.
