Campus placements: IIIT Kottayam receives 122 job offers
Campus placements: The second phase of placements at IIT Madras will begin in January 2023.
Students of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Kottayam, received as many as 122 job offers during campus placements this academic year so far. As per an official statement, the students received 122 job offers from 54 companies during the first phase of placements which started in July this year. The highest domestic salary (CTC) offered was INR 58.3 lakh per annum, whereas the mean salary package was INR 13.29 lakh per annum, The Hindu reported.
The institute also reported the highest international salary package of INR 23 lakh per annum. The primary recruiters were product-based companies, IT/software, finance and consultancy enterprises. The second phase of placements will begin in January 2023, the report added.
IIT Mandi witnesses surge in pre-placement offers
Meanwhile, IIT Mandi has registered an increase in the number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) this year as compared to the last year. Students of the institute bagged 69 PPOs this year, whereas the number was 56 last year. Major recruiters that gave PPOs to IIT Mandi students this year include tech giant Microsoft (11 offers), Samsung Research Institute, Bangalore (10), Amazon (7), Arista networks (6), Accenture (4) and Uber (3). The first phase of placements is scheduled to commence on December 1, 2022, and the PPOs can be offered till then by companies.
Internships help increase PPOs at IIT Madras
IIT Madras too recorded an increase in PPOs during 2022-23. A summer internship process conducted in the offline mode helped connect the industry and students and drove up PPOs. As of November 13, a total of 333 PPOs were made to students during the 2022-23 academic year, as against 231 offers in 2021-22. The PPOs will continue to be made till the commencement of Phase I of Campus Placements, which is scheduled for December 1, 2022.
