IIT Madras to Host Asia's First International Hyperloop Competition, Uniting Global Innovators from U.S, Europe
IIT Madras will host Asia's first international Hyperloop competition from February 21 to 25, 2025, bringing together key stakeholders from the U.S., Europe, Turkey, and beyond to advance the adoption of sustainable and ultra-fast transit systems.
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is set to host the Global Hyperloop Competition (GHC) 2025, Asiaâs first international Hyperloop competition, from February 21 to 25, 2025. Organised by IIT Madras in collaboration with IITM Pravartak and SAEIndia, with support from the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, the event aims to promote Hyperloop technology on a global scale while inspiring young minds to drive innovation in next-generation transportation.
The competition will take place at IIT Madras' state-of-the-art Hyperloop test facility, developed with support from Indian Railways, ArcelorMittal, L&T, and HindalCo. Bringing together key Hyperloop stakeholders from the U.S., Europe, Turkey, and beyond, the event aims to fast-track the adoption of sustainable and ultra-fast transit systems. It will serve as a global platform for students, researchers, and industry leaders to exchange ideas, share expertise, and inspire the next generation of engineers and designers to shape the future of mobility.
The Global Hyperloop Competition 2025 invites innovators, visionaries, and changemakers to join this event. Highlighting the unique aspects of this competition, Prof. Satya Chakravarthy, Faculty Advisor, Hyperloop IIT Madras, said, âThe GHC is a testament to what students can achieve when given the right opportunities and platforms. IIT Madras Global Hyperloop Competition
The Global Hyperloop Competition 2025 will unite brilliant minds and forward-thinking teams from across the globe, featuring approximately 400 participants competing in three dynamic categories:
- Pod Demonstration: Teams will showcase their Hyperloop pod prototypes, highlighting advancements in speed, stability, and safety on the state-of-the-art test track.
- Hyperloop InnoQuest: A thought-provoking case study competition addressing real-world challenges in implementing Hyperloop technologies.
- DesignX: A platform for design enthusiasts to present groundbreaking concepts, pushing the boundaries of Hyperloop technology and its applications.
