GATE 2024 Result: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore will announce the results of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) on March 16, 2024. Candidates who appeared in the exam on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024 can check their GATE results on the official website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in. They can check their GATE 2024 result on the Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal.

This year, IISc conducted the GATE 2024 exam for 30 papers instead of 29. GATE 2024 is held for admission to postgraduate engineering programmes and Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) recruitment. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will be offering admission to MTech programmes based on GATE 2024 result.

How to calculate GATE 2024 Score?

IISc will calculate the GATE score by considering the raw marks obtained by candidates in the exam. The raw or actual marks will be allotted to the candidates after evaluating the answers. The GATE 2024 score for the multi-session exam is calculated by converting the raw marks into the normalized marks for that particular subject. The raw marks will be used for calculating the GATE score based on the qualifying marks.

Formula to calculate GATE Score:

GATE Score = S + (St-Sq) (Mr-Ma) (M-Mg)

  • M: marks obtained by the candidate (actual marks for single session papers and normalized marks for multi-session papers)
  • M_{q}: is the qualifying marks for general category candidate in the paper
  • overline{M}_{t} is the mean of marks of top 0.1% or top 10 (whichever is larger) of the candidates who appeared in the paper (in case of multi-session papers including all sessions)
  • S_{q}: 350, is the score assigned to M_{q}
  • S_{t} 900, is the score assigned to \overline{M}_{1}
