The Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) of IIT Delhi, IHFC, has embarked on a transformative mission by collaborating with ten institutions across India to establish Co-Innovation Centres (CiC). This initiative seeks to foster innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship among India's youth. Marking a significant milestone, the first CiC was inaugurated in Bengaluru, in partnership with PES University.
Other institutes set to launch their Co-Innovation Centres (CiCs) include the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, Kolkata; Thapar Institute, Patiala; SRM University of Science and Technology, Chennai; Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar; among others, showcasing a broad geographic and academic diversity.
Co-Innovation Centres (CiC)
In future, additional Co-Innovation Centres (CiCs) will be established in partnership with the following institutions: Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS), Coimbatore; Crescent Innovation Incubation Council (CIIC), Vandalur, Tamil Nadu; Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bangalore; Delhi Technological University (DTU), Delhi; and Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi.
This initiative is driven by a vision to nurture innovation and technological advancement among India’s youth. The Co-Innovation Centres aim to develop the skills of aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators, encouraging them to think creatively and deliver impactful solutions to address pressing market challenges. Additionally, these centres focus on fostering research and the development of indigenous deep-tech products, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
Speaking on this landmark occasion, Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi, stated, “We are enhancing the reach of IHFC to partners with innovation hubs across the country to create a more robust funnel of new ideas and innovations in collaborative robotics.”
Prof. S.K. Saha, Project Director at IHFC said, “It has been my constant endeavour and dream to provide India’s youth with a platform to ideate, innovate, and create solutions that make a difference to the world. These centers will not only promote lab-to-market concepts but also contribute to building a tech-savvy nation, creating more jobs, and offering transformative technology solutions.”
