IIIT Delhi Signs MoU with University of Illinois System

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIITD) and the University of Illinois System formalized their commitment to collaboration for joint educational and research activities by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU outlines a framework for cooperation in various areas such as education, research, faculty exchange, and staff development. 

Faculty, researchers, and students from both institutions gathered for the signing ceremony, marking the start of a hopeful collaboration. The event saw the arrival of Timothy L. Killeen, the President of the University of Illinois System, and other esteemed guests from the University of Illinois, USA, at the IIIT Delhi campus. 

The purpose of their visit was to cultivate partnership opportunities and seek joint development in education and research between these distinguished institutions. IIIT Delhi and University of Illinois System MoU include:

  • Establishment of cooperative relationships through mutual assistance in education and research
  • Implementation of joint educational and research activities
  • Exchange of faculty members, advanced graduate students, and staff
  • Participation in seminars, academic meetings, and special programs
  • Negotiation of separate agreements for specific activities, subject to availability of funds and approval
  • Limitations and procedures for student exchanges
  • Duration, renewal, termination, and amendment procedures

Professor Ranjan Bose, Director of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi said, "This MoU establishes avenues for a multitude of opportunities for both institutions to engage in joint academic programs, exchange knowledge, and foster academic excellence."

President Timothy L. Killeen stated, "Our visit to IIITD signifies a crucial stride in nurturing robust partnerships that transcend borders. Strengthening ties with India is paramount to us. Together, we aim to embark on joint research ventures, focusing on critical areas such as agricultural resilience, sustainability, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology.”
