IIIT Hyderabad invites applications for dual degree programmes via lateral entry

The institute offers admission to dual degree programmes under lateral entry via Lateral Entry Entrance Examination (LEEE) 2022, which is scheduled to be held on April 16, 2022. 

The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has invited applications for lateral entry mode of admission to its dual degree programmes. The institute offers admission to dual degree programmes under lateral entry via Lateral Entry Entrance Examination (LEEE) 2022.  

Under this scheme, graduates of dual degree programmes earn two degrees: BTech and MS. The masters degree requires completion of a research thesis. The programme prepares students for research-oriented jobs and higher studies. The duration of the programme is four years.  

IIIT Hyderabad LEEE Entrance Exam 2022  

LEEE Entrance Exam 2022 will be held on April 16, 2022. Candidates can apply at ims.iiit.ac.in. till April 3, 2022. The dual-degree programmes that an LEEE applicant is eligible for are Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECD) and Computer Science Engineering (CSD). Candidates will be selected on the basis of entrance exam followed by interview. The decision on final offer of admission is solely based on the interview performance.  Candidates need to register online and fill an application form to appear for the exam. The application fee for is INR 2,500 (non-refundable).  

Eligibility criteria 

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the programme. 

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECD ) programme: Applicants completing their three semesters of BE/BTech in ECE/ETE/EIE/EEE by July 2022. 
  • Computer Science Engineering (CSD) programme: Applicants completing their three semesters of BE/BTech. in CSE/IT by July 2022. 
  • Applicants with an aggregate of 80 per cent marks (or 8/10 cumulative grade point average) at the end of their third semester are strongly encouraged to apply. 

NOTE: Applicants for CSD programme must appear for the computer science and engineering exam, while applicants for ECD programme must appear for electronics and communication engineering exam.
