IIIT Kota expected to shift to its own campus from the academic year 2022-23
While replying in the state assembly during a question hour on Monday, the technical education minister Subhash Garg announced that the construction of two phases are in full swing and the campus will move to its original home from the next academic session.
The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Kota is expected to shift to its own campus from the year 2022-23. The technology institute made the announcement regarding shifting to its own campus almost 10 years ago in 2012. Currently, the IIIT-Kota is running its sessions at MNIT Jaipur.
While replying in the state assembly during a question hour on Monday, the technical education minister Subhash Garg announced that the construction of two phases are in full swing and the campus will move to its original home from the next academic session.
Until now four batches have graduated from the MNIT in Jaipur. The former Ashok Gehlot government in 2012-13 announced the IIIT. The change of regime in December 2013 had stalled the progress of the institute that remained on the papers, added Garg.
IIIT-A to modulate MTech courses as per NEP 2020
Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) has decided to modulate all MTech courses with the provisions of the new National Education Policy-2020. In order to do so, the institute has started a major exercise. The institute has formed an 11-member high-level sub-committee of experts from not just select top technical institutions of the country but also from the corporate sector.
The technology institute has selected eminent names from the industry. Experts selected for the committee include Professor AG Ramakrishnan from Indian Institute of Science (IISc)- Bengaluru, Professor Ganesh Ramakrishnan from IIT, Mumbai, senior vice president of Reliance Industries, Mumbai, Shantanu Gupta besides senior experts of IIIT-A including prof US Tiwari, Professor Shekhar Verma, Professor Nitesh Purohit, Professor Manish Goswami, Professor Pawan Chakraborty, Professor Pritish Bhardwaj as well as joint registrar Ashish Kumar and registrar Professor Vijayshri Tewari.
