IIT Bhilai, Guwahati tie up for collaborative research
The agreement was signed to initiate academic and research collaborations as well as to promote faculty and student mobility.
Prof Parameswar K Iyer, Officiating Director, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, and Prof Rajiv Prakash, Director, IIT Bhilai, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate academic and research collaborations as well as to promote faculty and student mobility.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, RI Modi, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Guwahati, and Prof TG Sitharam, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on the sidelines of the 55th IIT Council meeting held at IIT Bhubaneswar recently.
IIT Bhilai had recently signed an agreement with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur to explore new opportunities for research. AIIMS Raipur and IIT Bhilai will jointly develop effective and low-cost technology for treatment. Director of AIIMS Raipur Dr Nitin M Nagarkar and then Director of IIT Bhilai Prof Rajat Moona signed the agreement. It was informed that IIT Bhilai had developed new technology and equipment after continuous research to reduce the cost of eye patients and MRI. It can be transferred to AIIMS Raipur for trial. Prof Rajat Moona informed that there are more than 10 startups in IITs which have provided their technical expertise for various sectors. Research has also been done to reduce the cost of MRI, which will benefit all sections.
