IIT Bombay Celebrates 62nd Annual Convocation; 325 Graduates Awarded Degrees

IIT Bombay Convocation: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay conducted its 62nd convocation ceremony that underscores the institution's commitment to academic excellence and innovation. This occasion saw the awarding of a total of 352 degrees during the interim session of the celebration. Among these, 209 degrees, were conferred upon PhD students. In addition, 143, degrees including 44 E-MBA degrees were awarded to students of various other programs.

Degrees were awarded to students who met all academic requirements between August 2023 and January 2024 and opted for early degree conferral prior to the 62nd Convocation. Prof. Satish K. Tripathi from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The function was presided by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIT Bombay Dr. Sharad Kumar Saraf and the Director Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri gave away the degrees.

Addressing the graduates, Prof. Tripathi said, “And as I look out at you - our future leaders, I have every confidence you will leverage the knowledge that you have acquired at IIT Bombay to meet this challenge head-on. Society needs innovators like you - educated global citizens who can bring their disciplinary expertise to bear on complex issues”.

In his address, Dr. Sharad Kumar Saraf, the Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Bombay, inspired the graduates to contribute positively to their alma mater and the broader society.
