IIT Bombay Introduces Recharge Zone

At the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, the Student Wellness Centre (SWC) has introduced a special 'recharge zone' for the students who are participating in the placements. This initiative provides stress-relieving stations like pet therapy, art activities yoga and foot spa sessions offering students effective ways to unwind and alleviate stress.

The initiative was launched after the counsellors experienced a significant rise in the number of students seeking counselling appointments during the annual placement sessions.

The recharge zone started on December 1 and is scheduled to run from 4 pm to 11 pm daily until December 7, 2023. The timing selection has been aligned with the demanding schedule of the placement period on campus. This aims to ensure that students, amidst their busy schedules, have ample opportunity to access and benefit from the stress-relief facilities provided within this zone.

As of now, the counselling process at the SWC will continue as it is, this initiative goes beyond the conventional counselling done at the centre. It was the result of brainstorming by the SWCโ€™s outreach team, to provide easily accessible open space for students to destress while going through the placement period at IIT Bombay.

Students can access all services offered within the recharge zone free of charge. Situated close to Hostel 16, where the majority of placement drives on campus are taking place, this unique zone is a temporary open space area featuring diverse stalls, each dedicated to providing a specific service.
