The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has released the applications for the Post-doctoral (post-doc) fellowships at various academic Departments, Centres, Schools and Inter-disciplinary programmes at the institute. As per the official website, there is no last date to apply for IIT Bombay Post-doctoral fellowships. To fill up the application form, they have to visit the official website to apply for the IIT Bombay Post-doctoral fellowship.

Who are eligible for IIT Bombay Post-doctoral Fellowships? 

Candidates who wish to be considered for post-doc fellowship must be fresh PhDs or PhDs with less than 2 years of experience or research scholars who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting exam. Also, they should be preferably be below 32 years of age. IIT Bombay's PhD students are not eligible for this position. 

How will candidates be shortlisted for IIT Bombay Post-doctoral Fellowships? 

Departments/Centers/School will evaluate these applications through a process similar to that of faculty selections. All the selected candidates will be initially offered Institute Post-doctoral Fellow (IPDF) position for a period of one year. Further extension can be given based on the successful yearly progress report and seminar, evaluated by a departmental post-doctoral committee. 

The candidate appointed for the Post-doctoral fellowship will have a mentor. In addition to research, the Head of the Department may assign reasonable academic/administrative tasks depending on the need. The Department may also provide reasonable office and lab space to its postdoctoral fellows. Also, financial support is provided for one international conference during the tenure of the fellowship for the presentation of their research work done at IIT Bombay.
