IIT Delhi, HORIBA jointly hold Tech Symposium on Semiconductor Industry
The Tech Symposium on ‘Solutions for Semiconductor Industry’ was well attended by students, distinguished professors and Industry professionals and they provided positive feedback on the experience, inspirations and lessons learned from the technical sessions.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and HORIBA India jointly conducted a one-day technical symposium on ‘Solutions for Semiconductor Industry’ at IIT Delhi.
The ‘TechSEM’, a HORIBA India initiative was officially launched through logo revealing at the event with the participation of special guests including Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi; Dr. Rajendra Singh, Associate Dean, IIT Delhi; Prof. Krishna Balasubramanian, Department of Physics, IIT Delhi; and Dr. Rajeev Gautam, President – HORIBA India.
With this initiative, HORIBA India aims to bring industry and academia together to facilitate group learning, joint research projects and workforce development for semiconductor manufacturing to overall support creating a dynamic Semiconductor ecosystem in India.
The IIT Delhi Director, Prof. Rangan Banerjee, appreciated this joint symposium by HORIBA and IIT Delhi. He highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration in today’s fast-paced digitalization era. He proposed many such initiatives and joint development projects in the coming days.
Dr. Rajeev Gautam, President – HORIBA India informed the audience about the recent establishment of manufacturing, repair and calibration of the Semiconductor Mass Flow Controller under the concept of ‘Make in India’ at the HORIBA India Technical Center, Pune. This is the first milestone by HORIBA, Ltd., Japan to support and strengthen the development of the overall Semiconductor ecosystem in India.
The first such initiative was held along with IIT Delhi, where various academic faculty members and industrial experts delivered talks on an overview of the Indian Semiconductor system, the latest research and innovation in semiconductors, current challenges faced by semi-industry and the HORIBA solutions to address them followed by a hands-on experience in handling HORIBA’s Optical Emission Spectrometer.
