The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has released a statement following the tragic suicide of a second-year M.Sc. Cognitive Science student from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, expressing deep sorrow over the untimely loss. The official notice states, "We express our deepest condolences to the student’s family and friends. The Institute is doing everything it can to support his family in this hour of grief. IIT Delhi is fully committed to ensuring the mental and physical well-being of its students."
The Delhi Police is investigating the unfortunate incident. The Institute extends its deepest condolences to the student's family and friends and is doing everything possible to support them during this time of grief.

IIT Delhi MSc Student Dies By Suicide
A second-year Master’s student at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi reportedly died by suicide in his hostel room late Tuesday (October 22, 2024). According to the Delhi Police, the student had received psychiatric treatment at the campus hospital earlier that same day. The deceased name is Kumar Yash who was from Deoghar, Jharkhand.
