IIT Dhanbad to start eight new courses
IIT Dhanbad has around 300 acres of land at Nirsa-Maithan, Dhanbad for its second campus, where initial construction work is going on.
The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad is planning to launch eight new courses this year, in new areas of technology. The institute will run these courses once its second campus becomes operational.
IIT-ISM Dhanbad is planning to launch courses in Machine learning, the Internet of Things, Quantum Computing, Nanoelectronics, Nanophotonics, Photonic integrated circuits, Silicon photonics and Smart antennas courses.
As per IIT Dhanbad, a lot of demand is expected for new technology in the future. Keeping in mind these elective courses will be started by various departments of the institute and preparation has been started.
According to the IIT Dhanbad newsletter, if everything goes well in a few years time the institute will start offering these courses. IIT Dhanbad has got about 300 acres of land at Nirsa-Maithan, Dhanbad for its second campus, where initial construction work is going on and the construction of a full-fledged new campus is likely to begin soon after.
The land is in the process of the boundary wall. In such a situation, there is a possibility that after the boundary wall of the land, the construction of the building and other processes can start.
Upgradation of Central Research Facility
For the Central Research Facility (CRF) of IIT ISM Dhanbad, a facility of many new types of equipment has been made available to the teachers and students. These include an e-beam lithography lab, universal testing machine, laser particle size analyzer and solid particle zeta meter. Students and research scholars will use these tools to conduct research.
