IIT Gandhinagar: Fourth online edition of series 'History of Ideas' on July 15

The last date to register for the fourth online edition of the series 'History of Ideas' is July 2, 2023.

IIT Gandhinagar has invited applications for the fourth online edition of the series 'History of Ideas' on July 15, from 3-5 pm. This series aims to discuss the historical evolution of prominent ideas and fundamental breakthroughs in Science.

"The fourth edition will bring to you the following two talks: 1) ‘String Theory: Model and Framework’ by Prof Sunil Mukhi, IISER Pune. 2) ‘Thinking machines and Artificial Intelligence -- the birth of an idea’ by Prof Anirban Dasgupta, IIT Gandhinagar," reads the official statement.

`History of Ideas' Series will include "String Theory: Model and Framework" by Prof. Sunil Mukhi, IISER Pune, "Thinking machines and Artificial Intelligence -- the birth of an idea" by Prof. Anirban Dasgupta, IIT Gandhinagar. The ZOOM link to this online event will be sent to the registered participants only. The last date for registration is July 2, 2023. There will be no certificate for participation.

IIT Gandhinagar Professor engaged in Charles Wallace's project

Prof Arka Chattopadhyay of IIT GN is currently engaged in a Charles Wallace project that investigates how European modernist forms were reinvented in the Bengali avant-garde literature of the 20th century. Prof Chattopadhyay, IASH fellow, and Dr Sourit Bhattacharya, lecturer in Global Anglophone Literatures, The University of Edinburgh, his collaborator on this project, are organising a one-day symposium, ‘Decolonising modernisms’ on June 28 at IASH, The University of Edinburgh.
