IIT Gandhinagar to organise JEE open house on October 23

The virtual event will include different sessions with the Director, Deans of Academic and Student Affairs, student leadership and alumni of the institute. 

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar will conduct a live open house event for students who have cleared JEE Advanced and their parents on October 23 at 6 pm. The virtual interactive programme will aim at guiding potential BTech students about different engineering courses offered by the IITs, career opportunities, and would help students in better understanding of the IIT system which would lead them in making informed choices, the institute said. 

The event includes different sessions with the Deans of Academic and Student Affairs, student leadership, and alumni of the institute as well as a session by Prof Sudhir K Jain, Director, IIT Gandhinagar. The participants can get first-hand guidance on their queries and doubts related to undergraduate education at IITs.  

The institute said if the students with a JEE-Advanced rank of 1,000 or better (as per the Common Rank List) join the institute, it will provide them a scholarship equivalent to the entire tuition fee for all four years of their undergraduate programme. The students and their parents from all over the world can participate in the session for free through webpage, https://iitgn.ac.in/openhouse/ 

The institute said students could attend the event to get an insight about its values and culture, innovative curriculum, double major and dual degree programmes, liberal policy for branch change, undergraduate research opportunities, infrastructure and student support, international internship opportunities, career development services, entrepreneurship opportunities, co-curricular and extracurricular initiatives, educational innovations, and student-centric initiatives, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
