Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has partnered with Airbus India Private Limited, following fruitful discussions with officials from Assam’s Transport, Skill, and Industries Departments. This collaboration marks a pivotal move towards advancing aviation and logistics education in Assam, to boost the socio-economic development of the northeastern region. This collaboration aligns with the Govt. of India’s UDAAN Scheme, which aims to foster growth and socio-economic reforms.
A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) has been signed between Prof. Devendra Jalihal, Director, IIT Guwahati, and Mr. Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director, Airbus India Private Limited. Additionally, an Agreement has been finalized to implement this major initiative.
IIT Guwahati is set to establish a Global Skilling Centre in Aviation and Logistics to tackle the pressing shortage of skilled professionals in the logistics sector, a vital component for the expansion of global trade and commerce. The centre will offer comprehensive training and development programs designed to equip individuals with the expertise needed to meet industry demands. The partnership with Airbus India Private Limited aims to enhance employment opportunities and career advancement for individuals in the northeastern region while improving service quality in the aviation and logistics industries.
