Arohan Scheme
Arohan, conceived as a Mentor-Mentee program for secondary class students in Government schools, is an initiative championed by the visionary Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. Under the umbrella of Samagra Shiksha Assam, this flagship program comprises a range of activities such as mentoring, exposure trips, competitions, and tailored interactions, all aimed at nurturing the career advancement of government school students from 9th to 12th grade.
Within the framework of the Arohan scheme, IIT Guwahati has hosted meritorious students (Mentees) along with their Guide teachers/Officers in a total of 12 batches. During their visit to IIT Guwahati, these students had the opportunity to engage with institute faculty members, interact with students, and explore institutional facilities.
Throughout the session, students actively participated in in-depth discussions with 33 faculty members from IIT Guwahati. The diverse topics explored encompassed strategies for JEE preparation, research within fundamental sciences, academic offerings at IITs, and insights into the Common Entrance Examination for Design. These interactions were curated to inspire a passion for science and technology within these talented students.
Students from 29 districts of Assam including Nagaon, Hojai, Udalguri, Darrang, Biswanath, Sonitpur, Jorhat, Dima Hasao, Baksa, W.K.
