IIT Hyderabad to organise Yoga Tech Conclave on May 14
The Department of Heritage Science and Technology of the IIT Hyderabad will be organised in association with the Indian Yoga Association.
The Department of Heritage Science and Technology (HST) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has announced to organise a Yoga Tech Conclave in association with the Indian Yoga Association on May 14, 2023.
The HST department was opened last year on the occasion of International Yoga Day by Padma Bhushan Vijay Bhatkar. The department offers online MTech course in heritage science and technology with three specialisations -- science and technology of yoga, Indic language processing, and conservation and reconstruction of heritage architecture.
The MTech course that began in August 2022 is offered in online mode for two years, where the second year is for a thesis project with focus on either research or product development. There is an option to exit at the end of first year (after course work) with a postgraduate diploma in HST. The course has in-campus, in-person weekend workshop/hackathon at the end of each semester.
During the Yoga Tech Conclave, there will be a brainstorming discussion on the current tech challenges and its role in the future of yoga. At the ongoing national conclave of state chapter committees organised by the Indian Yoga Association, Vinay Siddaiah, MTech (HST-IITH) and founder, Yogavijnana, invited the yoga fraternity to participate in Yoga Tech Conclave at IIT Hyderabad.
