IIT (ISM) opens research labs for classes 9 to 12
The aim is to inspire school students of Jharkhand to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad has opened research labs for students of classes 9 to 12 through the ‘K-12 Outreach’ initiative. The aim is to inspire school students of Jharkhand to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The research lab tours are free. However, school groups are required to arrange their own transportation to and from the IIT(ISM) campus. In order to visit research labs at IIT (ISM), the schools are required to complete the research lab trip request form. The laboratory tours will include demonstrations and question and answer sessions.
Key attractions of research lab tour at IIT (ISM)
- Lab tours for robotics and gaming.
- Cutting-edge i2h building.
- Visit to Geological Museum and Longwall mine.
- Seismic Observatory.
As many as 25 students preferably from senior grades can participate from a school. Students can visit the labs between 10 am and 1.30 pm. They will receive a lunch packet, a program souvenir and a group photo in the oval garden during their visit.
