This course provides a thorough and practical approach to bridging the gap between theoretical engineering concepts and real-world manufacturing processes. Featuring an effective mix of 20% theory and 80% hands-on experience, it will introduce and enhance essential skills such as basic quantification, back-of-the-envelope calculations, rapid engineering drawings, appropriate tool usage, classification and taxonomy fundamentals, as well as a systems approach to planning and execution.
This training program will be conducted in a classroom setting with a hands-on approach. The course content encompasses practical experience in 3D modelling, 3D printing, Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), CNC programming, and CNC machining. Additionally, participants will gain insights into the stages of product development, including prototyping and testing.
This program offers entirely hands-on training for a subsidized fee of INR 6,000 plus GST. Accommodation will be available on the IIT Madras campus at a nominal cost of INR 650 per day per student, which includes both food and lodging.
