IIT Madras to carry out wellness survey for students, staff from May 4

The survey process involves a one-on-one conversation with a well-qualified wellness specialist assigned by National Health Mission for a duration of 30 minutes. 

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras is conducting a wellness survey which will begin on May 4, 2023. IIT Madras Director Prof V Kamakoti has shot an email to the students and faculty members regarding the same on May 1, 2023. The email read, "This is to inform you that the institute has planned a wellness survey by an independent agency for all students, staff and faculty, starting May 4, 2023, between 9 AM to 4 PM every day," the email read.  

It further read, “We aspire to reach out to all students, staff and faculty of our institute. Th survey will be done under the aegis of the National Health Mission (NHM), Government of Tamil Nadu. The survey process involves a one-on-one conversation with a well-qualified wellness specialist assigned by NHM for a duration of 30 minutes.” 

The survey will be held on the hostel premises for students, departments/offices and for others as appropriate. It added, “A volunteer team shall reach out to you regarding the timing. Being a wellness initiative, I seek your support to voluntarily and mandatorily participate in the survey physically. Needless to mention, anonymity and confidentiality will be ensured.”
