IIT Mandi Collaborate with HPKVN to Provide Machine Learning Training to Young Minds in Himachal

IIT Mandi partnered with the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) aimed to equip young students from Himachal Pradesh with essential skills in Machine Learning (ML). Know complete details here 

IIT Mandi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, in partnership with the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) conducted its 10th skill development training programme. This initiative was focused on equipping Himachal Pradesh's youth with essential Machine Learning skills. 

The programme saw the enthusiastic involvement of 54 young individuals from the Himachal region. Participants engaged in an intensive curriculum tailored to impart both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in Machine Learning, a state-of-the-art technology with broad implications across numerous sectors. 

The conclusion of the machine learning skill development training programme highlights IIT Mandi's commitment to fostering innovation and skill enhancement among Himachal Pradesh's youth. In partnership with HPKVN and other collaborators, IIT Mandi continues to dedicate itself to developing a skilled workforce and advancing socio-economic growth in the region, as stated in a press release by the institute.

The event, held at IIT Mandi, was graced by dignitaries, including Gandharva Rathore, IAS - Managing Director of HPKVN; Atul Karohta - State Coordinator of HPKVN; Shivendu Chauhan - District Coordinator of HPKVN; Professor Tushar Jain - Head of the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at IIT Mandi; Professor Manoj Thakur – Chairperson, School of Management, IIT Mandi; and Professor Anjan Kumar Swain - Programme Coordinator at IIT Mandi.

Tushar Jain, head of centre for continuing education, IIT Mandi, said: “I appreciate the efforts put in by HPKVN and their leadership to provide this opportunity and empower the youth of Himachal Pradesh. These one-month-long courses on machine learning along with Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotics offered by IIT Mandi focused on skill development and played a crucial role in enhancing the employability and economic prospects of these enthusiastic youths.”
