IIT Roorkee Leads Study on Advanced Grid-Scale Energy Storage Technologies

Mr. BS Bhalla, the Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), released a thorough study titled "Advanced Grid-Scale Energy Storage Technologies." This research, led by Prof. Arun Kumar from IIT Roorkee and conducted in collaboration with Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General of the International Solar Alliance, and Prof. KK Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, was released at the Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan in MNRE, New Delhi on November 29, 2023.

This innovative initiative explores diverse grid-scale energy storage solutions for India's sustainable energy future. It also addresses critical aspects of the power sector, emphasizing the need for a resilient and sustainable energy landscape in India. It puts forth practical suggestions to boost the incorporation of renewable energy and elevate the efficiency of grid-scale energy storage.
