IIT Roorkee to celebrate 175 years of Foundation Day on Nov 25

Major highlight of the event will be a startup expo in which around 50 startups will showcase their product/technology in various domains. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will grace the occasion as the chief guest. 

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee  will celebrate its 175th year of Foundation Day on November 25. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will grace the occasion as the chief guest and Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice-Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, will be the guest of honour. Vineet Pandey (IpoS), Secretary, Department of Post, will attend the event.  

Vineet Pandey will reveal a commemorative stamp brought by the Department of Post for 175 years of IIT Roorkee’s establishment. In addition, the event will also see the release of a commemorative coin for INR 175 and a coffee table book on the foundation day celebration event.  

Major highlights of the event will be Kavi Sammelan and a startup expo in which around 50 startups will showcase their product/technology in domains, including robotics, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and electric vehicles among others. The celebration will conclude with a drone show of the journey of IIT Roorkee from the sky which will be visible from every house in and around Roorkee city.  

Apart from this, BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman BOG, IIT Roorkee, will host a fireside chat show on November 24. The 175th year celebration of IIT Roorkee started on November 25, 2021, and will continue till November 25, 2022.
