IIT Ropar inks MoU with Punjab Energy Development Agency

IIT Ropar joined hands with Punjab Energy Development Agency and sign up an important MoU in the presence of Punjab New & Renewable Energy sources Minister. 

IIT Ropar has signed an agreement with Punjab Energy Development Agency. The goal is to make Punjab the front runner state in production of clean and green energy and to setup Centre of Excellence (CoE) for E-mobility.

The MoU was signed by the Director of IIT Ropar, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja and the Chief Executive Officer of PEDA, Dr. Ravi Bhagat at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1. A 1MW Agri-PV Project will be set up at IIT Ropar Campus to undertake activities for Green Hydrogen Production.

IIT Ropar, Indian Army collaborate for training and R&D programs

IIT Ropar and Army Training Command, HQ, Shimla, represented by Director, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja and GOC-in-C Lt. Gen. SS Mahal, respectively, have agreed to cooperate in various training and R&D programs through the Center of Excellence for Studies and Applied Research in Defence and Security.

Reciprocal visits by IIT Ropar faculty and officers from ARTRAC and various Cat A establishments of the Indian Army have been planned to identify areas of further cooperation and synergy.

In the context of broad technological domains that can serve pan-Army needs, tech development in specialty textiles, additive manufacturing and drone training/warfare was comprehensively discussed.

Key areas of cooperation identified were artificial intelligence, fusion of emerging technologies in military systems, cognitive enhancement psychological tools for new recruits and various healthcare tech.
