JEE Advanced 2020: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is going to conduct the JEE Advanced 2020 exam August 23, said the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
As per the JEE Advanced schedule released earlier, the exam was going to be conducted on May 17. The exam was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. Two days ago the HRD Minister also announced the dates for the JEE Main 2020 April exam. The exam was also postponed to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
JEE Advanced is conducted every year for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). In a decision by the Joint Admission Board last year, the top 2,50,000 candidates of JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2020.
Another key decision is to hold the JEE Advanced exam in the United States for the first time. A JEE Advanced examination centre will be set up in the San Francisco area to serve this purpose.
The announcement of dates is a relief for the students as they were in the doldrums whether any of the exams will be conducted, any one of the two exams will be conducted, admission to IITs, NITs and IIITs will be on the basis and the similar ones.
Recently, HRD Minister interacted with students across the country in a webinar to resolve their confusion regarding the exams. During the webinar, Nishank announced the dates for the JEE Main 2020 April session.
He also said that the coaching centres are closed as they can cause problems to ensure social distancing and restrict the spread of the Coronavirus. Candidates are suggested to prepare by means of self-study for avoiding loss of studies due to this.
