JEE Advanced 2021: Attention foreign candidates! IITKGP releases important notification for you

All foreign candidates will be considered in addition to and not as a part of 2.5 lakh Indian national candidates who qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced 2021. Aspirants can check the official notice on jeeadv.ac.in.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has released an important notice for foreign candidates who will appear for JEE Advanced 2021. As per the notice available on the official site of JEE Advanced jeeadv.ac.in, foreign candidates are those candidates who are not citizens of India and/or are OCI/PIO card holders.  

Foreign nationals not required to write JEE Main 2021

Foreign national candidates who have studied or are studying abroad at 10+2 level or equivalent at the time of registering for JEE Advanced can appear for the exam without writing JEE Main. 

As per the notice, all foreign candidates will be considered in addition to and not as a part of 2.5 lakh Indian national candidates who qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced 2021. All seats allotted to the foreign national candidates will be supernumerary with a cap of 10 per cent of total number of seats in every course. These candidates are outside the ambit of reservation of seats under the GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories/sub-categories as specified in the information brochure of JEE Advanced 2021. 

JEE Advanced 2021: Foreign candidates can appear in any Indian centre at own expenses 

All foreign candidates who wish to appear for JEE Advanced 2021 will have to register online through the JEE Advanced website jeeadv.ac.in. Those belonging to SAARC countries will have to pay $75 and those hailing from from non-SAARC countries will have to pay $150. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Candidates are required to show identify proof in the form of citizenship certificate/foreign passport and/or OCI/PIO card, where applicable. 

The notice read, “Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided not to conduct JEE Advanced 2021 in any of the foreign countries. The foreign nationals can appear in any of Indian centres at their own expenses.” 

JEE Advanced 2021 application form will be available on the official website from September 11 onwards. Top 2.5 lakh qualified candidates of JEE Main 2021 will be allowed to apply for the JEE Advanced till September 16 (5 pm). The last date for the fee payment of registered candidates will be September 17 (5 pm).
