JEE Advanced 2024 Expected Cutoff; IIT Madras will Declare Result Next Week
Experts have shared the expected cutoffs for JEE Advanced 2024. Meanwhile, IIT Madras is set to announce the results next week, with provisional answer keys expected to be released this week.
According to experts, the difficulty level of the JEE Advanced 2024 exam suggests a potential increase of around 10 marks in the cutoff scores across categories. This year's exam comprised two papers, each totalling 180 marks with 51 questions. Passing JEE Advanced for IIT admission requires candidates to pass each paper individually and achieve a minimum aggregate score. Last year's cutoff for general candidates was 86 marks, but this year it may rise to approximately 95 marks.
In addition, the speculated JEE advanced 2024 cutoffs for various categories are as follows: around 89 for OBC-NCL, 88 for GEN-EWS, 52 for SC, 52 for ST, and 52 for the Common-PwD rank list (CRL-PwD). These estimations are based on the perceived difficulty of the exam. It's essential to note that several factors, including the number of exam takers, available seats in each IIT and course, the difficulty level of the paper, past cutoff trends, and overall student performance influence the cutoff. These variables collectively determine the final cutoff for JEE Advanced 2024.
In the previous year, the cutoff for the OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS rank lists stood at 77, while for the SC, ST, and Common-PwD rank lists (CRL-PwD), it was 43.
IIT Madras is set to declare the JEE Advanced 2024 results on June 9, along with the final cutoff marks for rank lists across categories. The provisional answer key for JEE Advanced 2024 will be released on June 2, and candidates will have until June 3 to raise challenges if needed. The final answer key, incorporating all challenges, will be published along with the results. Candidate response sheets for JEE Advanced 2024 will be accessible starting May 31 on jeeadv.ac.in.
The JEE Advanced 2024 exam took place on May 26, conducted in two shifts. The first shift, for paper 1, occurred from 9 am to 12 noon, while the second shift, for paper 2, was held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Feedback from students and experts indicates that this year's paper was surprisingly easier compared to previous years, falling short of the usual difficulty level expected from JEE Advanced exams.
