The National Testing Agency announced the results on Tuesday for the JEE Main Session 1 held between January 27 to February 1. Qualifying Percentile for JEE Advanced 2024 to Rise
Experts speculate that the surge in JEE Main registrations this year, marking it a four-year high, could impact the percentile cutoff required for qualifying for JEE Advanced 2024.
Candidates who rank within the top 2.5 lakh in the JEE Main 2024 common rank list (CRL) will qualify to appear for the IIT JEE Advanced. The All India Rank (AIR) for JEE Main 2024 will be determined by candidates' performances in both sessions of JEE Main exam. JEE Main session 2 exam will be held between April 4 to 15 and the session 2 result will be out on April 25, 2024. The results of JEE Main 2024 session 2 will include the cutoff score for qualifying for the JEE Advanced exam, as well as the All India Rank (AIR). Additionally, the final scorecard will indicate whether the candidate has successfully qualified for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam.
Experts also noted a substantial increase in scores in the JEE Main 2024 session 1 compared to previous years, indicating heightened competition for the subsequent stage for IIT admissions, JEE Advanced. Nationally, scores have seen a significant uptick attributed to factors such as simplified exam papers, reduced syllabus, and enhanced preparation levels. The unexpected percentile scores have taken many students by surprise.
Twenty-three students achieved a perfect 100 percentile score. Many aspire to pursue computer science at IIT Bombay, intensifying the competition for coveted spots.
This year, a total of 12,21,615 students registered for JEE Main session 1, with 11,70,036 candidates appearing for the paper 1 test conducted nationwide on Jan 27, 29, 30, 31, and Feb 1.
