The snag, particularly prevalent in centers located in industrial areas, resulted in prolonged wait times for JEE Main candidates, with some even gaining entry beyond the scheduled time limit of 8:30 pm.

The second phase of the Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main) for 2024 kicked off today, marking the beginning of a crucial phase for aspiring engineers across the country. However, the start wasn't without its share of challenges and stringent security measures.

Biometric Hurdles:

As candidates flooded examination centers across the nation, reports emerged of biometric attendance glitches causing delays and inconveniences. The snag, particularly prevalent in centers located in industrial areas, resulted in prolonged wait times for candidates, with some even gaining entry beyond the scheduled time limit of 8:30 pm.

Security Screening:

Prior to entry, JEE Main 2024 candidates underwent thorough security screenings, including metal detector checks to ensure compliance with the strict no-electronics policy. However, instances of candidates sporting prohibited jewelry such as nose pins and earrings further complicated the entry process, leading to additional delays.

Tightened Anti-Cheating Measures:

In a bid to maintain the integrity of the examination process, organizers have deployed advanced measures, including 5G jammers to prevent cheating attempts. Additionally, extensive CCTV surveillance and a central control room have been established to monitor examination centers closely. The deployment of national, regional, and city coordinators, along with observers and technical staff, underscores the comprehensive approach adopted to ensure a fair and transparent examination process.

Upcoming JEE Main Shifts:

As the first phase unfolds, attention now shifts to the subsequent shifts scheduled between April 4th to 12th. With approximately 12 lakh candidates registered for the April session, meticulous planning and execution remain imperative to the success of the examination.

The JEE Main April session, spanning across 11 shifts, underscores the significance of this examination in shaping the future of countless engineering aspirants. Despite initial hiccups, authorities remain committed to upholding the integrity and fairness of the examination process, ensuring a level playing field for all candidates.
