MHT CET Result 2024: The commissioner of MHT-CET clarified that there was no penalty for wrong answers and that results were determined using percentiles. No extra marks were given to any candidate. Know details here
MHT CET Result 2024: This time, the state common entrance exam cell conducted the MHT CET 2024 for engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture courses from April 22 to 30 for the PCB group and from May 2 to 16 for the PCM group. The MHT CET PCB group exams were held in 12 sessions, while the PCM tests were conducted in 18 sessions. After the announcement of MHT CET result 2024, approximately 200 candidates and parents submitted applications to the CET cell, Mumbai office, and many more were received via email.
Clarifying all the doubts Dilip Sardesai, the commissioner of the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET), said that all issues raised by students and parents have been solved. He advised everyone not to believe in rumours. He also said that Maharashtra was the first state in India to use a computerised and central admission process for professional courses. The Union government later adopted this system because it is transparent and free from human interference.
MHT CET Result 2024 Calculation Process Explained
According to the official announcement, a total of 330,988 male, 394,033 female and 31 transgender candidates registered online for the entrance test, with 675,377 students eventually taking the exam. At a press conference, Sardesai clarified that there was no penalty for wrong answers, and the MHT CET results were determined using percentiles. He emphasised that no extra marks were awarded to any candidate.
MHT CET 2024 Answer Key Objection Evaluation
"If candidates or their parents had any objections regarding the questions or answers, the CET cell provided an online facility for registering their concerns," Sardesai said. "These objections were verified by subject experts, and the answer sheets were modified accordingly. The report of the modified answer sheets was then published on the CET cell website."
MHT CET 2024 Result Announced Based on Revised Answer Key
The Maharashtra CET results were announced by incorporating revised answer sheets based on recommendations from subject experts, the official mentioned. Candidates' marks were then calculated using a specific formula, and session-wise results were announced in percentiles. Sardesai explained that candidates with identical raw scores in a single session were assigned the same percentile ranking.
"Similarly, the tests were conducted on different days in two sessions each, so the 'raw score' related to various sessions and the percentile of the candidates are different. The objection that the candidates did not get the marks they scored as per the answer sheets made available to them is also incorrect," he said.
"The objections that were registered by the candidates have been verified by the respective subject experts and the MHT CET answer sheets have been modified accordingly. The report was released at cetcell.mahacet.org for the information of the candidates. The process of the results was implemented as per the amended answer sheets," he said.
Candidate's Concerns Addressed by Maharashtra CET Cell
The candidates' marks have been released using session-specific MHT CET percentile rankings according to the established result calculation method, the official stated. Despite the exams being conducted in separate batches, a unified MHT CET merit list has been released, clarified Sardesai.
Addressing another concern, he explained that while question papers vary between batches, results for each session are computed independently. "This procedure had been made available on the website of CET cell. It was published in April 2024 well in advance before the commencement of the examination. Therefore, this objection is also incorrect," he said.
